Documentându-mă de pe internet şi din cărţile de specialitate despre acest meşteşug " Quilling" am înţeles că este arta rulării hârtiei şi a fost practicat în Egiptul Antic, apoi a fost preluată treptat de ţări ca Italia, Franţa acest privilegiu l-au avut doamnele din înalta societate realizând lucrări remarcabile folosind această tehnică pentru împodobirea ramelor, coşuleţele de lucru, scrinul, cabinetul.
Lucrări de mare calitate au fost realizate şi de către maicile din Franţa şi Italia care decorau relicvele (moaşte) şi icoanele.
Muzee renumite au exemplare antice cu astfel de lucrări. Mai multe piese au fost descoperite în timp şi cercetarea continuă.

Cu timpul” Quilling-ul“ a ajuns să fie practicată de persoane de toate vârstele fiind o artă accesibilă tuturor, eu personal am găsit-o a fi destul de relaxantă şi deosebită, consider că poate fi o terapie prin artă ,deşi nu este uşoara, ea necesită răbdare, imaginaţie şi dăruire necondiţionată.
